A Britain’s Got Talent contestant who impressed both the judges and audience in 2022 but didn’t make it to the live shows has shown that she didn’t need the competition for her success.
Skylar Blu was left speechless when Alesha Dixon invited her to the London Palladium for a surprise audition during the ITV show’s 15th season, as a “Golden Moment.”
The young dancer was praised as ‘incredible’ by Simon Cowell, who complimented her ‘immaculate’ routine, while Amanda Holden admitted to being ‘bursting’ after witnessing her performance.
‘Please don’t forget us when you’re world famous,’ former judge David Walliams said.
Despite receiving four yeses and positive feedback, Skylar didn’t make it to the live shows. However, she’s proven she didn’t need to, as the star—who was just seven when she auditioned—is now featured in Marks & Spencer’s festive ad.

The supermarket has already revealed its food advert featuring Dawn French but has now introduced Skylar in its Christmas ad for clothing and home.
The 90-second advert takes viewers through Christmas “through a child’s eyes,” showcasing Skylar dancing around the house, bringing her family together, with the Jackson Sisters’ “I Believe In Miracles” playing.
It begins with Skylar feeling down upon hearing there will be no snow on Christmas Day. However, everything changes when she discovers a magical snow globe.
Soon, baubles start tumbling down the stairs, and it feels as though she’s inside the snow globe, with the room flipping upside down and her family dancing in unison on the walls.
The ad concludes with Skylar and her family, all dressed in Christmas attire, having a blast, with the message: “Christmas starts here.”

Anna Braithwaite, M&S Clothing & Home Marketing Director, said: “For many of our customers, Christmas is one of the most anticipated moments of the year, a time for families to come together and make cherished memories. The festive season brings a sense of hope, wonder, and joy, and this year, we’re adding a touch of fantasy to our Christmas campaign.
“We’ve always been known for delivering the magic and sparkle of Christmas, and this season, through our campaign, we’re showcasing the best of M&S—offering exceptional quality, stylish clothing, and innovative, thoughtful, and playful gifts—all at great value.”
Director Elliott Power shared: “The excitement of kids at Christmas is contagious; it takes us back to that feeling of wonder. This is not just a fashion film—it’s a festive adventure through a child’s eyes, a visual spectacle with a playful tone, and beautiful elevated festive fashion integrated throughout.”
Choreographer Corey Baker added: “The choreography leans into physical theatre—think unconventional positions in familiar spaces. We wanted to create something that feels both familiar and dreamy, with a playful, fantastical touch that captures that heartwarming Christmas cheer.”
