FCC Chairman Brendan Carr is scheduled to update Republican lawmakers on the agency’s investigation into George Soros and his influence over local radio stations during a meeting on Wednesday.
As reported by Fox News, Carr will brief members of the Republican Study Committee—a group of 175 House Republicans—at their annual closed-door luncheon. His discussion will primarily focus on Soros’s connections to local radio stations, particularly through his ties to an investment firm that acquired more than 200 Audacy radio stations nationwide last year.
The meeting takes place amid increasing Republican scrutiny of the acquisition, with lawmakers raising concerns about foreign ownership and the regulatory process undertaken by the FCC.
