A shocked priest halts the funeral when the deceased’s son walks in wearing a bright green suit. His bold appearance stuns the mourners, but the real shock comes when he reveals that his father is still alive in the coffin.
Dressed in mourning black, the guests gathered to honor the late business mogul, Mr. Sullivan. But just as they were paying their respects, the church doors suddenly slammed open, and 22-year-old Alex entered, beaming, in a striking green suit.
The priest, taken aback, addressed the room. “Alex, this is not the appropriate way to arrive at a loved one’s funeral. Please leave and return dressed properly.”
Alex chuckled, making his way down the aisle. “Sorry, Father Johnson, but I’m not here to grieve,” he said.
A mix of confusion and unease swept through the room.
Alex turned to the crowd and, with a dramatic gesture at the open casket, proclaimed, “This man in the coffin—he’s a liar and a fraud. And more unbelievably, he’s still alive!”
“You heard me right,” Alex continued. “Let me tell you what I’ve discovered since my father’s so-called death.”
Just hours earlier, the family had been celebrating Mr. Sullivan’s 50th birthday with joy and laughter. But his behavior had been strange. At one point, he stood up to make a toast, expressing gratitude to his family, especially his son Alex. He then made an unsettling comment about feeling exhausted and needing time alone in his office, before disappearing upstairs.
Minutes later, a loud crash was heard from his office, and Alex rushed upstairs to find his father collapsed on the floor, struggling to breathe. A spilled vial of liquid lay beside him.
“Call an ambulance!” Alex cried as he knelt beside his father, but his uncle Carter, a local doctor, insisted that they couldn’t wait and rushed him to the hospital himself.
The news Alex received later was devastating. His father had died from Potassium cyanide poisoning, and his uncle Carter took charge of the funeral arrangements.
Alex, convinced that his father would never harm himself, began to suspect foul play. At home, he discovered that their family dog, Pebbles, had accidentally ingested the poison, though miraculously, the dog appeared unharmed after the vet found only traces of sleeping pills in his system.
Confused and desperate for answers, Alex soon learned that his father had been involved in a tax evasion case, selling his company for millions in cash. As Alex pieced together the events, he suspected that something was deeply wrong, and that his father’s death wasn’t as straightforward as it seemed.
Driven by his suspicions, Alex discovered a hidden stash of money in an abandoned mansion. Among the bags, he found not just cash but two passports—one with his father’s photo but a different name, Alan Parker. It was clear that his father had been living under a false identity.
Alex’s search led him to the funeral, where he made an incredible revelation: his father was still alive in the coffin! Using a hand mirror, he demonstrated that his father was breathing, and with a shot of adrenaline, Mr. Sullivan sat up in the coffin, bewildered.
An hour later, both Mr. Sullivan and his brother Carter were in police custody, confessing to their elaborate scheme to fake Mr. Sullivan’s death to evade the law, using a decoy body from the morgue and a fake hearse.
